چکیده
We propose an innovative process coupling powder bed additive manufacturing by Electron Beam Melting (EBM) with Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Atomic Layer (ALD) to develop 3D Ti-6Al-4V structures covered AlN coating. Despite of the high reactivity nitrogen, thick (~10 ?m) conformal films are deposited CVD on substrates surface roughness. An under-layer ALD is necessary mitigate reaction between nitrogen precursor NH3(g) limit formation brittle titanium nitride phases. have thus achieved adherent coating without any modification microstructure at core substrate. show that a 7 ?m efficient in protecting against cyclic oxidation 650 °C for least h. This study opens new opportunities design coated use temperature oxidizing environments.

متن کاملTIG Surface Alloying of Ti-6Al-4V with Nitrogen and Chromium for Improved Tribological Properties
Due to special properties such as low density, high strength and high corrosion resistance Ti-6Al-4V alloy has been used extensively in various industries, especially in the aerospace aspects. However the major problem of this alloy is its poor tribological properties under relatively high loads. In the present study, in order to improve the tribological properties of mentioned alloy, chromium ...
متن کاملLaser powder bed fusion of Ti-6Al-4V parts: Thermal modeling and mechanical implications
A continuum-scale modeling approach is developed and employed with three-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA), for simulating the temperature response of a Ti-6Al-4V, two-layered parallelepiped with dimensions of 10×5×0.06 mm during Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF), a metals additive manufacturing (AM) method. The model has been validated using experimental melt pool measurements from the l...

Laser cladding process was performed on a commercial Ti-6Al-4V (α + β) titanium alloy by means of tungsten carbide-nickel based alloy powder blend. Nd:YAG laser with a 2.2-KW continuous wave was used with coaxial jet nozzle coupled with a standard powder feeding system. Four-track deposition of a blended powder consisting of 60 wt % tungsten carbide (WC) and 40 wt % NiCrBSi was successfully mad...
